Dimitrios Marinos was born in Athens and started his musical studies at the age of six. He studied at the Athens Conservatoire with professor and director Aris Garoufalis. He undertook a Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying with professor Pascal Nemirovski.
In July 2006, he won the prestigious “Gina Bachauer” Scholarship competition for young Greek piano soloists. He has given recitals in Greece, United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Albania and has performed extensively as a chamber musician. Apart from his musical studies, Dimitrios studied Physics at the University of Athens.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Athens State Orchestra, the City of Athens Orchestra, the Athens Academica Orchestra and the Athens Conservatoire Orchestra. He is a permanent member of the Ventus Ensemble and Director of “Filonas” Music Competitions. Future plans include solo and chamber music concerts around Europe.
Dimitrios Marinos holds the position of the Administrative Supervisor of the Athens Conservatoire and he is appointed professor at the Piano Department.
